Unfortunatly they're not allowing cameras at all at the Madison tonite. I called over there Saturday and talked to my friend's aunt who runs the place and she said Adam's management wasn't allowing it (I call bullshit on that!).

I'm heading over there after work at 5 and have friends going over there around 3 to stand in line so hopefully we'll get word about this if it changes. I'm sneaking a camera in anyway!

Maybe it was the tiny venue, I don't know, but the show seemed especially fresh tonight. And Adam was feuding with the soundbooth guy all night ahaha. He seemed hyperalert, making faces, throwing ninja kicks at Monte during 20CB, changing up his speeches.

Oh, and Tommy sang along with If I Had You. ADORABLE.

The concert tonight was amazing. The venue was tiny. My sister and I made it to the floor in the back. Pre-show sing-a-longs and a bounce-a-long to I've Got a Feeling. I think I lost my hearing by the time Adam showed up, this crowd was LOUD. So here are the highlights that I can remember.

* I stood in line in front of a 65 year old woman who came by herself, she's a widow. She saw Adam in Wicked in LA and remembers talking about how great he was. She was really excited to see him perform tonight.

* The energy on the floor was amazing, so much fun. Lots of bouncing and singing along to the songs between Allison and Adam.

* They restarted FYE for some reason. There were a lot of sound issues apparently because Adam went over to the sound guy several times and lots of gesturing during songs. Didn't detract from the night, tho.

* It was HOT. Adam was dripping with sweat. Incidentally, so was I.

* Sleepwalker uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunfffffffffffffffffffffff

* He kept performing to this one guy's camera, it was a guy in the front row. Couldn't tell if he was getting video or pictures, tho. But Adam sang to him a few times, once during SFW and again during MA, maybe more.

* He knelt down in front of the audience a few times, down on his knees. I kept stretching up on my toes in case he decided to make out with someone lol.

* At some point someone threw a thong or gstring or something up there and Adam was kneeling. He put it up to his nose and sniffed a couple of times then tried to throw it back out. He kind of laughed, I think it got stuck on his finger or something.

* 20th Century Boy - I. Need. Vids. Now. He and Monte were sparring or something. Monte kind of charged him with the guitar and Adam charged back, idk how to explain it but I can't wait to see it again.

* After IIHY, Monte was pointing at someone in the front row on his side and looked really excited and happy. I have no idea what he was pointing at.

* During SFW he got us all to bounce.

* Fever was gorgeous, his dancing UNF UNF at one point he was leaning over and pointing idk it was hot.

This is all I remember right now. I'm sure I got some details wrong. Can't wait to watch videos as they come in!

COVINGTON - Standing in a corner of the Madison Theater, at the opposite end of the room from the stage, it was hard to get a good look at Adam Lambert, the main attraction of Monday night’s sold-out show.

The Madison’s sightlines aren’t the best when the club is filled to capacity. So, if a concertgoer is of a certain height, Lambert could only be seen in glimpses.

He looked like a different person each time, thanks to several wardrobe changes that revolved around the color black, the material of leather, and various feathery and glittery accessories. One time, Lambert – the runner-up in American Idol's eighth season – looked like a dead-ringer for MTV-era Adam Ant. Later, he was a black-leather-clad early-‘70s Lou Reed.

That particular pop-music tradition of androgyny was at the center of what was a concise 13-song performance. Whether he was covering T.Rex and matching the energy of – if not rocking harder than – Marc Bolan, or singing a song called “Sure Fire Winners” that could be the third installment of a trilogy that would begin with Queen’s “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions,” Lambert was channeling any number of glam and androgynous rockers along the way.

In that regard, there’s not much in Lambert’s act that can be likened to breaking new ground. He’s not as interesting a performer as any of the fellows mentioned above. But his music benefits from up-to-the-minute modern-pop craftsmanship and a four-piece band that cranked its guitar and its drums. Lambert’s repertoire sounds bigger, though certainly not better, than, say, an album like Lou Reed’s “Transformer” or a song like Adam and the Ants’ “Nine Plan Failed.”

But old Lou Reed didn’t have primetime network television in his corner when his career was launched. A crowd of 1,650 “Glambert” fans shoehorned itself into the Covington club. Lambert appears to be the winner in the long run, even though he finished second to Kris Allen. Like many of the shows on his successful Glam Nation tour, this one could have been moved to a bigger venue.

But since Lambert’s act teeters between rock dynamics and Broadway dramatics, playing in a smaller, steamier space in from of a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd gave the show a bit of an edge. That’s not to say it was not without its middling theatrical elements. Four backup dancers prowled the stage, and Lambert cleared the dancers and the band away – except for keyboard player Camila Grey – for “Soaked,” a piano ballad that sounded more suited for musical theater than a rock show.

“It’s hot up in here,” Lambert observed, after completing the song, which he then quoted: “I’m soaked to the bone.”

Most of the selections came from Lambert’s CD “For Your Consideration,” like “Fever,” “Sleepwalker,” “Whataya Want from Me,” “Aftermath,” “Strut” and his latest hit “If I Had You.” He closed the show with a one-song encore of T.Rex’s “20th Century Boy.”

Fellow Season Eight alum Allison Iraheta, the fourth-place finisher, opened the concert for Lambert. The centerpiece of her 35-minute set was the type of song selection suited for “American Idol”: a cover of Pat Benatar’s “Heartbreaker.”

Super late, but I just got back from Indy.

- I'll never forget that heat. I think that was the sweatiest I've ever been in my life, yuck. Outside the venue was bad enough, but inside was worse. I was about second row of people in front, and it was just miserable. And people were smooshing me hard. Capacity was supposed to be 1200, but I heard reports from reputable sources (review above, friend of the owner, etc) that said they let 1600 to 2000 in. Death. Trap. I'm telling you.

- But of course I forgot ALL about that once Adam hit the stage. HE WAS SO HAPPY. This was my fourth show, and I don't think I've ever seen him grinning so much. He just seemed to be having lots of fun. On that teeny tiny stage. :)

- Vocally, he was amazing. He went up SO many times. I remember thinking he was singing like he had a day off the next day.

- Yeah, as those guys said, he went over and had conversations with the sound guy three separate times. Not just one sentence, a whole conversation back and forth each time. And at the moment in Fever when he normally does some kind of licky fanservice, he was too busy giving the eyeball to the sound guy and motioning to make some kind of adjustment. So I blame Sound for lack of kissing.

- The thong thing was hilarious. He was right in front of us when he did it. His faaace! LOL

- TCB was so adorable, with the epic Monte/Adam battle.

- A few of the guys in the audience looked like they were in heaven, it was so cute.

- I don't do the bus lines, but I was nearby on a raised patio when Adam walked the line. At one point a sort of macho-looking dude ran from the line yelling REALLY loud, "WOOO-HOO! YEAH! I did it!" I'm like, "Wha'd you do?" Guy screams: "I got an autograph for my mom!!!" Like his team just won the Superbowl or something. LOL.

I was on the floor probably about 10 people behind you (I was behind a really cute guy with tons of glitter in his hair). I'm not surprised that it was over capacity. I remember thinking that people would get seriously hurt if there was a panic. I felt like a contortionist between sets, trying to fit in my space without being squished up against 4 people. When the show started I expected to be even more uncomfortable but, like you said, surprisingly it cleared up a bit and I was able to dance. Or maybe people just got out of my way lol

That Adam/Monte battle is my favorite stage antic so far on tour.

Ha, I remember glitter boy! Yeah, so you were pretty close to the stage. Plus, the stage was so tiny it felt like I was closer than I was, if that makes sense.

I never even think about being in danger in a club or concert. This was literally the first time it ever crossed my mind to plan my exit. (It mostly involved knocking people down and scampering across their glittery bodies.) I heard that there were ticket holders that couldn't get in because the venue way oversold. But that was just a rumor, so idk.

It's weird how it gets less claustrophobic when the show starts. I think it's partly psychological and partly that thing that happens when you shake a bottle of gel-caps that are stuck together.
