I am curious as wel, as I thought I might be able to do some gifting as well. I saw the "Give album or song as a gift", but then I get an error message saying "We're sorry, but due to concerns regarding sales to certain countries, you will not be able to purchase this gift.".

Does anyone know what might be causing this? Has anyone seen this before?

What country are you in? I (U.S.) just gifted a copy from Amazon with no issues. It could also depend on where the person you're gifting to is located. The person I gifted to was also in the U.S. My guess is it has something to do with copyright restrictions.

I can gift 5 copies from Amazon Mp3. I can't do iTunes bc it hates my computer, sorry. I know Amazon mp3 works for gifting to ppl in the U.S. but I can't guarantee it'll work with non U.S. ppl.

I neeeeed it like I need aaaaaair! But Amazon won't sell the mp3 to me because I'm not in the US :( So, please, please, if anyone can gift me a copy? I'd be eternally grateful!

I actually have no idea if that would be possible. I've only ever tried to buy mp3s by myself. The times I tried, I got a message saying that they couldn't sell them to me because the billing address for my card was outside the US. I don't know anyone who's tried to do it the way you suggested. We could try it maybe? If you're willing to try it, DM me on LJ and I'll let you know when I get home tonight. We can see if it works. If it does then the US people can help out other non-US people with this method. If not, it's just one purchase, so no big deal.

well folks, it looks like it didnt work. I honestly can't fathom why a business that depends on selling a product makes it impossibe for so many people who want it to buy the product. And then complains about people aquiring the product without buying it. grrr, frustrated.

I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Holidays and all that business. But I kind of got around the Amazon block by having a friend in the US download it for me and then send me the file. So, not completely legal (because copyright laws are DUMB like that) but Adam still gets his money and I still get my pretty, pretty single and your purchase wasn't for nothing! So, yay! I think to gift outside the us from amazon you just have to buy it yourself and upload (locked) to mediafire to link.

Thanks. Not willing to do all that unfortunately. I don't have a mediafire account (or anything like it) and don't want to deal with setting one up.
